Is there a way to tell if head gaskets are going out other than over heating and burning coolant? Doesn't seem like it's burning coolant and over heating can't happen because it's cold where I'm from. Thanks guys

Let it sit over night then in the morning while it's cold go squeeze the upper radiator hose. If it's hard and feels like a tennis ball they are most likely blown. Also look for random coolant temperature fluctuations
